The British Structural Waterproofing Association seeks to improve standards within the structural waterproofing industry, for example by means of
Promotion of qualifications and training for members involved in specifying and applying waterproofing systems
Publications such as Waterproofing Existing Basements and the Basement Waterproofing Design and Site Guides
Promoting standards through the trade press and construction authorities
Helping customers to find the most appropriate member for their requirements
Thorough vetting of applicants to ensure provision of the necessary expertise in this specialist field.
Always look for the BSWA logo Membership Categories
The first three categories of membership may use the BSWA logo on their letterheads, literature, advertising, vans and websites.

Probationary Contractor.

   

Contractors who have been trading for less than three years may apply for probationary membership.

Only full members listed on this website may use the logo - please check here before engaging the services of a company claiming to be a member. Membership certificates are available.

Basement waterproofing, tanking, cavity drain and other waterproofing explained What is Structural Waterproofing?

Structural waterproofing techniques can be used to resolve a range of problems from waterproofing damp basements, underground vaults, cellars and tunnels to protecting car park decks, water treatment plants and swimming pools. 

 

The terms cementitious tanking, cavity drainage, basement waterproofing, sprayed membranes, bonded sheet membranes, sprayed concrete, gunite, concrete waterproofing, leak sealing by pressure grouting, resin sealants, damp-proofing, concrete repair, concrete protection, timber treatment, rising damp and structural drainage may all be used in a waterproofing context.
